🖼️ · The Third Fragment
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
In this third station of our nine-part odyssey, "Traces of Dreams," the tangible world begins its graceful surrender.
Before you rise the peaks — ethereal echoes of Guilin’s jagged silhouettes, where the earth once reached for the heavens in a silent, lithic prayer. Yet, in this movement of the cycle, a profound transmutation occurs.
The peaks cannot be seen.
They do not demand to be looked at, but rather looked through. Translucent and ephemeral, they dissolve into a Ming Dynasty blue that refuses to stay still.
This indigo spirit breathes, expanding into teal and retreating into violet, a chromatic waltz that mirrors the fluidity of a dreaming mind. These hues do not merely exist; they interact in a state of constant flux — never final, never finite.
They serve as tactile evidence of wabi-sabi: the beauty found in the impermanent and the incomplete, proving that the heart alone can perceive the essential truth behind the veil of matter.
Suspended within these liquid summits, a solitary pagoda emerges — a delicate kintsugi of the soul. It is a mere whisper, a skeletal suggestion of shelter that waits for the viewer’s own consciousness to bridge the gaps and complete its form.
Then, the apparition. A celestial creature — part dragon, part phoenix, entirely myth — flickers through the haze. In a stylistic nod to the floating dreamscapes of Marc Chagall, it remains nameless and unbound.
It is a presence that cannot be captured by the intellect; it can only be felt as a companion in this blue-shaded solitude, watching from the periphery of our perception.
Above this liminal space, golden branches of méihuā—the flowering plum—unfold, modern and abstract in their presence. They are not mere ink on paper but shimmering sigils of resilience.
Embracing the philosophy of the series, the deliberate cracks in the medium are treated not as imperfections, but as the very language of time. These lines weave through the mountains, the creature, and the flowers, acting as the golden threads that bind the seen to the unseen, the physical to the spiritual.
🌙 · The Invitation
This fragment of the wandering mind issues a silent request:
In an era defined by the clamor and rush of the external, it invites you to descend into the internal. To de-center the self. To allow your spirit to drift into the spaces where stone becomes sapphire and shadows become light.
This is more than an artwork; it is a portal designed for an unhurried heart.
Do not seek to analyze the brushstroke; seek to enter the space between them.
Let the cracks guide you, let the blue immerse you, and remember that in the realm of the nine fragments, to let the mind wander is not to be lost — it is to become free.
Where the mountain fades, the true vision begins.
