Breathed into Being

Art is a meditation on imperfection. Each piece carries not just image, but spirit, memory and the wandering mind behind it.

The Mission

I create art which weave stories - untold, open,
a motivation to let the mind wander to unknown fields, boundless imagination. Let you escape from the daily rush, releasing your thoughts.

A Bridge Between Worlds

fusheng weiyi® is a bridge between East and West.

Born in Austria, rooted in Yunnan, China — an engineer turned artist.

My work is a meditation on imperfection.
A dialogue between the ancient and the yet-to-come.
A space where memory meets imagination, and where tradition does not end — but transforms.
My base philosophy is that pure black and white don’t exist, but endless shades of grey. Every imperfection keeps their lessons which might be heared and understood.
And my synoptic mind craves to bring things together which haven’t been united yet, old and new, different cultures, philosophies, an expression of a multipolar world.

Influences - Language of My Work

1. The Painters of Light

Like the Impressionists, I work with light not as fact, but as feeling.
You need to step back — to let the image breathe — to feel the full emotion and composition. Up close, you see color and texture, points, lines. From a distance, you see the soul.

2. Eastern Philosophy — Imperfection as Beauty

Rooted in the aesthetics of Song and Ming Dynasties, my work embraces wabi-sabi: the art of imperfection as beauty.
Empty space is not absence — it is presence waiting to be felt.
Humanity is not the center of nature — it is a humble guest within it. These principles shape every piece I create.

3. Modern Abstraction
Kandinsky, Chagall, and the Wandering Mind.

From Kandinsky, I inherited the belief that art speaks directly to the soul — without the need for explanation.
From Chagall, I learned to let the mind float — to let dreams inhabit the canvas.
My work is not bound by tradition or innovation. It moves between them.

4. The Need to Create

I am driven by a quiet, persistent urge:
to create something that motivates the audience to let their own mind wander, step out of the daily rush in a world which exists between.
Something that resonates with similar minds — seekers, wanderers, those who find beauty in the spaces in between.
A wandering mind, freeing itself from given boundaries, to tell stories that catch the audience and engage.

I seek resonance over imitation, synergy over reproduction, and an enduring sustainability that carries spirit across the threshold of time.

The Personal Journey

I crossed oceans — not to escape, but to arrive.

After years of wandering, I found my home in Yunnan, China — a land of breathtaking landscapes, living traditions, cultural diversity and deep philosophical roots.

Here, I transitioned from engineer to artist.
Not as a rejection of science, but as an expansion of it. As an escape from decades of structure, processes, pressured time constraints and tight project plans.

My synoptic mind craves exploration and unexpected synergies.
I am drawn to the fusion of precision and emotion, of logic and intuition, of the old and the yet-to-come.

Yunnan gave me roots
Art gave me wings
fusheng weiyi® gave me a way to share both
